The first day of the Arab Fertilizer Association’s Technical Workshop, held under the theme “From Vision to Reality: Disruptive Technologies Reshaping the Fertilizer Industry” commenced yesterday in Copenhagen, Denmark. The opening day witnessed significant and diverse participation from leaders in the fertilizer industry, alongside global licensors and technology providers in the sector.
A series of high-level technical presentations were delivered, showcasing the latest innovations and technological solutions addressing critical challenges across fertilizer production, such as:
– Low carbon intensity ammonia at mega scale with SynCor technology.
– Revamp options for existing ammonia plants for decarbonization.
– Status and advantages of Topsoe high efficiency SOEC and integrated dynamic ammonia loop.
– SK-501 Flex: Energy efficient & safe way of ammonia production.
– WSA technology and VK catalyst for flexible sulfurous gas treatment and efficient sulfuric acid production.
– LLP flash design: a new feature to optimize pre combustion carbon capture unit in ammonia by BASF.
– Ballestra recent development of a cost-effective approach in SOP production.
– Phosphogypsum waste or raw material? The second life of phosphogypsum as a sustainable recyclable material by Thyssenkrupp Uhde.
The sessions saw strong engagement from attendees, who actively participated in Q&A segments and discussions that facilitated immediate, practical solutions to the topics addressed.
