The Technical seminar concluded with a field visit to the site of the Arab Potash Company at the Dead Sea.
Today marked the conclusion of the seminar with a visit to the leading potash fertilizer producer, the Arab Potash Company. Ranking seventh globally among potash fertilizer-producing countries, constitutes 6% of the world's production. Participants were hosted at the company's headquarters in the Dead Sea, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the AFA and the General Secretariat team.
The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the potash industry, one of the three main components for plant growth, with over 90% of its global production used in fertilizer. Established in 1956, the Arab Potash Company holds exclusive rights for mineral extraction, manufacturing, and marketing from the Dead Sea.
The company's current production capacity is around 2.7 million tons this year, with three main factories and future expansion plans to increase production capacity by one million tons annually. Employing approximately 2,800 direct and indirect workers, the Arab Potash Company is a major supporter of Jordan's economy and a key supporter member for the Arab Fertilizer Association.
Participants, including senior management, engineers, chemists, and technicians from various sectors, gained insights about the company's production applications, safety, and health. also APC’s contributions to sustainable community development and environmental preservation.
